This site is designed for the Linkshell group "The School of Hard Knocks" who play on the Final Fantasy XI MMORPG game.  This is a place to gather helpful info about the group, the game, and many of the quests and items that the LS will party together to get. 

How We Became an LS

Kik and Arculles met in the Tahrongi Canyon while they were leveling thier main jobs.  Arculles gave Kik a linkpearl to another Linkshell where there were a scant 3 members, including Letizio who is Arculles' brother in real life.  Kik had little party experience, and game experience in general, so was thrilled to have a group to go to for advice and such.  Arculles and Kik finished the night off by dying in the Meriphataud Mountains by a Jub-Jub, but not before they put the whoop down on quite a few Gobs, Dahmel's, and Jub-Jub's.

The next couple of days they traveled by boat to San Doria where they proceeded to get jumped by Goblin Ambushers, and Goblin Butchers.  At around that time, Arculles and Letizio were kicked from the Linkshell that we were on.  Kik ran around in circles wondering what to do, and what would become of him when Arculles told him what had happened.  Kik immediately dropped the Linkpearl, and from that moment they both decided to form their own Linkshell.

The plan was simple, each of them would come up with 4000 gil.  However, they were still pretty low, and it took them a couple of days to come up with the gil.  Arculles kept sending Kik the money, and Kik found a woman selling them in San Doria.  Kik went ahead and bought the pearl with every intention of giving it to Arculles so that Arculles could lead the group.  Unfortunately it was discovered that you can not trade the Linkshells to other players.  Kik would have to be the leader.  Arculles picked the color of the shell, and they both decided to name the Linkshell SchoolOfHardKnocks, due to them getting jumped and dying a lot at the time.  They like to think that they learn the hard way!!
